NSW: High fire danger in force in state's west
There's a high fire danger in western New South Wales today, with a total fire banin the upper western, north-west plains, central western plains, central west slopes,Riverina, lower western and south west slopes districts.
The Rural Fire Service says fires in the Shoalhaven, Cessnock, Singleton, Oberon andLithgow areas of eastern New South Wales are contained and not threatening property.
But a blaze in the Tuckean Nature Reserve, near Lismore in the north-east, has burntout 250 hectares since it started after a lightning strike on Saturday.
A bushfire in Sydney's Royal National Park yesterday burnt out five hectares beforeit was brought under control.
The fire is believed to have been deliberately lit.
