Tas: Police appeal for information after fatal car crash

Police are appealing for witnesses to a fatal car crash near a remote tourist spot
in north-east Tasmania yesterday.

A 39-year-old Hong Kong woman died and three people from Victoria were injured when
their car ran off the road and into the bank of a creek bed near Ralphs Falls, west of
Pyengana, about 5.15pm (AEST).

All four were able to get out, but the 39-year-old back seat passenger died from injuries
sustained in the crash.

A 45-year-old female passenger suffered chest injuries and was taken to hospital in
a serious but stable condition.

The 24-year-old male driver and 20-year-old front seat female passenger suffered minor injuries.

Police are asking anyone who may have seen the green Ford Falcon travelling on Falls
Creek Road to contact them.

They'd also like to speak to the driver of a green hatchback with a bicycle on the rear.

Anyone with information can contact Sergeant MIKE DAVIS on 63 363701 or 63 363 936.

The national Easter road toll now stands at six.
